Bangkok - Day 1

Monday, November 30, 2009

Finally done with Day 1's editing. Almost died.

Here goes!!

Don't be deceived by the pictures. We almost couldn't board the plane.

Was late to arrive at the airport. Chris had to go park her car and they wouldn't allow me to check in for her!!

We used to do that loh!! Why now cannot!

Horrible experience!

And history had to repeat itself when we depart from Bangkok. -____________-"

So boring.. 2 hours' flight can only eat chips and cup noodles. The only hot meal available is chicken rice.

I soooo wanted to try their Hokkien Prawn noodles!

In the end, we ordered..

laksa flavoured cup noodle, a can of coke and

shared by 3 of us!

We were starving after all the rushing and arguing with the airline's staffs!!!

After 2hrs and 15min, we arrived at the Land of Smiles!!!

Walked freaking far to collect our luggages..

Even with the travellators, there's still quite a distance to walk.

Collected my luggage and realised that my lock is gone!!

AND IT'S MY BELOVED 'MY MELODY' LOCK!! *sob*

Cannot claim 'cause i took low budget airline. Argh!

Went downstairs to get a cab.

Counters were there to issue tickets and assign cabs to customers.

There were many cabs in different coloura awaiting for passengers. There was only 1 pink one. And we got it!!

Chris' luggage is too big!! Car boot can't be closed so had to use a rope to hold it in place.

If not, by the time we reach the hotel, her luggage will probably not be there anymore! 'Cause the driver was driving at top speed of 140km/hr!!

So fast that my camera can't take it. The whole cab trembled too much!

Cab fare was very cheap!! Equivalent to about $8 for 30 kilometers of journey!

Still, we gave him 400 baht. We are too rich. HAHAHAH!!

Partly 'cause of this kind of generosity, we ended up becoming very poor towards the end of the trip. =(

Our sty for the next 3 nights

Here, you see 3 luggages, which evolves into some 6-8 bags later on during the trip. Haha!!

Our room..

Can't help camwhoring in front of the mirror at the sink!! Lights behind mirrors are the best lightings ever!!

Please bear with me! hee..

After settling down and took like 449734337277110 pictures , we went out to explore a bit.

This grand hotel was the most luxurious-looking one near our place.

Along the streets, there were plenty of mobile bars!! Super budget kind. Just a bar counter with couple of chairs and you can easily start your own business.

almost all of them had the led sign, just in different words.

As we were starving(the chicken rice and cup noodles already vanished into thin air), we went to this 'restaurant with open concept', as recommended by one of our colleagues, for dinner!

It was pretty difficult to locate 'cause there were so many restaurants with alfresco dining!!

Luckily i had the courage to venture into the place.

It's located along the street of Soi 11.

The bigger picture is exactly how it looks like from outside. Doesnt even look like a place for food!! It is quietly tucked into a small corner. The waiters inside don't even bother to come out and greet us! They were like seriously concentrating on their job inside.

After expressing our intentions(that we need food!!), we were shown to our table. The atmosphere of this place is very unique!

Just look at the pictures!!

the paper handtowels seriously look like tampons.

Halfway through eating, this pervertic Chris made me divert my attention from all the lovely food to........... a MAN'S BACKSIDE!

Actually not backside la. It's the bottoms that the male waiters were wearing.

Come to think of it, i dont recall seeing any female servers.

AND there was a really HOT waiter that looks a bit like Pierre Png. Too bad i didnt have his picture.

Anyway, here's the sideview of what he's wearing..

see the lump bulging out?

their pants were PLEATED into a nice 'you zha kway(fried fritters)'!!

Bought a pack of ciggy before heading over to Bed Supper Club. Adverts on their boxes are like 100 times worse than SG ones. When i got it from the cashier, i was damn turned off by the picture.

I wonder how the others looked like..

Please dont puke..

Anyway, this Bed Supper Club that we were heading to, is somewhere near our hotel. But because ALL the maps that i've got(about 5-6) had different 'preferences' on mapping out locations, we had a hard time figuring out exactly how we should go about gettin there.

Mel suggested taking a tuktuk.

Someone suggested asking the front desk.

WHICH WAS A BRILLIANT IDEA!!! 'Cause as it turns out, the club is just 1 block away. Which means it's damn fucking near!!

Prolly the tuktuk driver will think that we're mad or what, if we DID get one.

Under-dressed.

We just wanna go in to have a look. To get free entry, we only had to show our room key. Yes! It's free for Citadines' residents except for event nights where you have to pay a whopping entry of 800 bahts! Kill people Put fire!!

More expensive than clubbing in SG. Attracts mostly expats.

Bed Supper Club

Nothing special. The place was rather boring to me. Went in, snap snap and out we go!

For some shiok-a-nathan foot massage!!

Again, this is found along the very street of our hotel. We didnt even take any transport on our 1st night. Just 1 way to our hotel and that's it. Lots of things can be done in Soi 11. Nice place to stay in.

Maybe just a bit too many sex workers walking around. It's their red light district ma.. so no choice!

Strolled back to hotel after the massage. Weather was VERY cooling, about 20 degrees celcius. Especially when the wind came. Chris and I were freezing!! Both of us have very low tolerance against cold weathers.

Bought this from 7-11

When we're finally in our room, there was a piece of paper on the table.

So the hotel is having an additional number of channels and they've decided to start it on..

WHAT?!? 26th!! That's our departure date loh!! Damn!!

Sad to say, this is not the only '26th' we encounter.. Many more to come. In post Day 2, 3 and 4!!

Stay tuned!!
